Dr Rani Sumant Rubdy received the second Singapore Association for Applied Linguistics (SAAL) Mentoring Medal of Honour on 4 November 2017. She was nominated by her former PhD supervisees, Associate Professor Ruanni Tupas and Dr Anitha Devi Pillai.
